In general, the most energy-efficient temperature range for heating with a heat pump is between 18-20°C.  You may want to adjust the temperature based on your comfort level and the specific conditions in your home. Generally it is more energy-efficient to use your heat pump to maintain a consistent temperature throughout the day and night, rather than turning it off and on repeatedly. 

When considering buying a second hand heat pump, there are several pros and cons to consider. It may be a good option if you are budget conscious and willing to take on some maintenance and repair costs, but it may not be the best choice if you are looking for a long-term, reliable heating and cooling solution. You must be aware that second hand heat pumps aren't covered by manufacturer's warranty's and guarantees and it can be more difficult to find replacement parts or matching components if it's an older model.
